HOW CREATION SCIENCE PROVIDES SOLUTIONS TO THE TOP 3 BIGGEST KILLERS IN OUR WORLD (esp. pollution)
Since God is the Creator of the universe, He is the best source for knowing how to live in this world best and also how to solve the various problems and crises that come into our lives from time to time. He gave simple solutions to all these problems in the Bible, and through prophets like Ellen White as science has confirmed in 1000s of studies. One of the most important priorities of our church needs to be to figure out which problems are causing the most serious problems at the present time and what God’s answers are to those problems. Many scientists are working to figure out answers and they often turn out to be based on creation science or other concepts in the Bible in some way. Once we have identified these solutions, we need to figure out ways of educating as many of our members in our institutions, churches, schools, hospitals, etc. as possible about how these work and how to share them so that nonbelievers understand how God’s principles are the best, cheapest and most effective solutions to problems people are facing now. When people see that God can solve their earthly problems far better than any human can, they will trust Him far more for their eternal welfare as well. We can kill 2 birds with 1 stone in this way.
Research shows that these are the 3 most important issues that protect lives if good habits are followed, but cause much loss of life and other problems if good habits are not followed. We SDAs do fairly well in the health area (although we can always improve there too), but we need to keep advancing in truth and do far better in the next 2 most serious problems in the world, economic injustice and pollution. After summarizing the 3 biggest killers/problems in our world with references, this article will deal briefly with the issue of pollution, showing what a serious problem it is and how God has built solutions to it in the Bible and in the incredible sophistication of plants.
THE 3 BIGGEST KILLERS IN OUR WORLD
1) NEWSTART/ GOOD HEALTH HABITS—Systematic reviews of over 1000s of scientific studies shows that following good health habits is about the most valuable thing people can do in life. ~41,000,000 people die every year because of bad health habits. Good health habits improve longevity, health, grades, mental health, creativity, relationships, moods, relationships and more. 33 million people die every year due to not following just 4 health habits that God gave through the Bible and Ellen White. They are smoking, alcohol, not exercising and not eating enough health food, esp. fruits and vegetables. The SDA church is the first and only denomination to have in its creed warnings against smoking and these 3 other bad health habits with Bible verses. No others do at present.).

22 experts from 10 countries reviewed over 800 studies and classified the consumption of all red meat as a category 2 cause of cancer (a probably cause of cancer) and processed meat as a category 1 cause of cancer (highly certain to cause cancer with known cause and effect mechanisms). See:
IARC Monographs evaluate consumption of red meat and processed meat
Carcinogenicity of consumption of red and processed meat
The scientific research is so strong that China is trying to reduce meat consumption by 50% among its people and has asked Arnold Shwarzenegger and director James Cameron to help promote this concept.
There are over 50 health principles in the Bible and they can be learned from SDAs who teach NEWSTART:

Bible principles of health alone could easily save trillions of dollars and save millions of lives per year in our world.
2) POVERTY “Every day, 50,000 people die simply because they live in poverty. That’s 18 million people every year. And sadly, worldwide more people die from extreme poverty than any other cause [if you consider how poverty causes bad health habits and causes exposure to pollution and other causes of death].
This is mostly due to the rejection of biblical land rights for every family, charging interest, government welfare for the super rich and other ways of ignoring economic rights that God instituted. See for example Nehemiah 5 where the godly Nehemiah demanded that the wealthy to give back the interest they had immorally charged and the land they had immorally monopolized. See also Ezekiel 45:1-10; 47:22-23 on that as well. Ellen White repeatedly said that these OT principles can solve modern poverty (WM p. 195). That’s true. Not only that, if they had been followed in the 1800s, Marx would not have been so angry at poverty and invented atheistic communism and people wouldn’t have followed that deception which killed over 100 million.
My sites on Bible economics and how high levels of inequality are major factors in almost every evil on our planet.
3) POLLUTION: Air, water and soil pollution kill about 12 million people every year. This is due mostly to corporate greed, putting profit above people (the Bible calls this greed). One of the very biggest causes of pollution is eating meat which goes against the Bible’s ideal diet in Eden. Eating meat is also 2nd biggest cause of pollution/global warming.
This article shows how if everyone ate meat like Americans did, it would wreck the planet.
Pollution causes many serious problems in many cities all over the world. Big countries like America and China, are the biggest sources of pollution, but many smaller countries also produce quite a bit of pollution, sadly. A few countries and cities are taking steps to reduce pollution wisely. But all need to do much more.
This site shows the pollution rankings of cities worldwide.
PROBLEM#1) Pollution is the 3rd biggest killer in the world. It kills ~12 million people every year.
Pollution has been linked to 1.8 million deaths in China, 2.5 million deaths in India, 155,000 deaths in the U.S. in 2015, and ~14,000 additional deaths a year in Korea. Air pollution alone causes ~3,000 deaths a year, 150,000 hospitalizations and costs billions annually in Hong Kong.
A former Chinese journalist made a documentary on the serious and lethal problem of pollution in China:
Chai Jing’s review: Under the Dome – Investigating China’s Smog 柴静雾霾调查：穹顶之下
PROBLEM #2) Pollution damages brain function.
Our brains use more oxygen than almost any other organ. Pollution has been shown to reduce brain function, intelligence, student grades and more quite significantly. These are a few studies on that.
PROBLEM #3) Because pollution reduces brain function and intelligence, it reduces earnings. Good brain function helps people get better grades, promotions at work, invent better ideas, make more money, etc.
“a college grad will earn nearly $600 for every lecture they attended, about $25,000 for every C or D, and about $42,000 for every A or B.” https://www.businessinsider.com/how-college-impacts-earning-potential-2014-10
“for a one-point increase in a person’s high school GPA, average annual earnings in adulthood increased by about 12 percent for men and about 14 percent for women..”
Pollution has other harmful effects as well. But there are many solutions, some of them very simple. And people who can solve these problems may be heroes for their country and the world. One of the most important solutions is growing specific plants. Plants? Yes, plants. And the process by which plants grow and produce food is extremely sophisticated. It involves intricate steps and at least 17 enzymes which need to be organized in exactly the correct way in order for photosynthesis to work properly and provide plants with what they need as well as humans and nearly all biological life with the food we need to live. No experiments have ever come close to demonstrating that the process of photosynthesis could ever come into being by chance. All experiments thus far have shown that complex functioning systems originate from a Creator. Thus creation science is the key reason why we are able to breathe air, eat delicious food from so many cultures as well as solve the problems of pollution. You can learn a little more about photosynthesis here:

SOLUTION #1): One very major and very beneficial solution to pollution is to eat mostly/all vegetarian. Why? Because eating meat is one of the biggest causes of several types of pollution, water pollution, deforestation/cutting down trees, air pollution, global warming, etc.

SOLUTION #2) You can grow fresh air. God has designed nature and plants so that they can get rid of bad things in our air. Some researchers have found some things that can be very helpful. Just grow a few plants in your room/home and it will clean up the air surprisingly well.
An Indian businessman named Kamal Meattle found a very simple solution.
He basically found from his experience of using plants in his business, that if people just grow three plants in their homes, schools, businesses, etc. it will produce a lot of fresh air, clean out most toxins in the air, increase oxygen in people’s blood daily, reduce the “incidence of eye irritation by 52 percent, respiratory systems by 34 percent, headaches by 24 percent, lung impairment by 12 percent and asthma by nine percent”, increase human productivity by over 20 percent and reduce energy requirements in buildings by an outstanding 15 percent. These have been confirmed by scientific studies by the Indian government and they are very important because 40% of the world’s energy is being used by buildings, energy use is expected to grow by 30% in the next 10 years and 60% of the world’s population will be living in buildings in cities of over 1,000,000 in the next 15 years.
How can people do this? Quite simple. Just grow three plants. The three plants are Areca palm, Mother-in-Law’s Tongue and money plant.
1) Areca palm removes CO2 and converts it into oxygen. Buildings need four shoulder-high plants per person. The leaves should be wiped every few days, daily in more polluted cities like Delhi. (They grew them in vermi manure or hydroponics and took them outdoors every three to four months).
2) Mother-in-law’s Tongue converts CO2 into oxygen at night. You need need six to eight waist-high plants per person.
3) Money plant removes formaldehydes and other volatile chemicals from the air (it grows easiest in hydroponic conditions)
Kamal Meattle’s talk is here:
An article on this is here:
Green plants reduce pollution on city streets up to eight times more than previously believed.
Dr. Mercola writes that:
Trees and forests in the US removed 17.4 million tons of air pollution in 2010, with human health effects valued at $6.8 billion…The health impacts of trees on air pollution resulted in the avoidance of more than 850 deaths, 670,000 cases of acute respiratory symptoms, 430,000 incidences of asthma exacerbation, and 200,000 school days lost.”
These scientists say that when choosing trees to control pollution, these factors should be considered, “Plants should be evergreen, large leaved, rough bark, indigenous, ecologically compatible, low water requirement, minimum care, high absorption of pollutants, resistant pollutants, agro-climatic suitability, height and spread, Canopy architecture, Growth rate and habit (straight undivided trunk), Aesthetic effect (foliage, conspicuous and attractive flower colour), Pollution tolerance and dust scavenging capacity….In Singapore; it has been noted that a single row of trees planted with or without shrubs canreduce particulate matter by 25% and each hectare (2.471acres) of plantation can produce enough oxygen to keep about 45 persons alive.”
These trees were the most recommended for eliminating pollution: Albizzia lebbeck (Woman’s tongue Tree), Cassia fistul (Golden Rain Tree), Zizyphus jujuuba (the asian Jujube tree), Azadirachta indica (Indian Lilac)

There are a number of other plants that are also very effective in cleaning the air in addition to the 3 mentioned above. See these sites for more information:

In conclusion, eating healthy vegetarian food, growing certain plants, riding bikes instead of cars, using public transportation, using less electricity, reducing use of hearing and cooling appliances and things like this are very big solutions for pollution.
If families, churches, schools, hospitals, etc. do these things and grow the 3 plants in your home listed above (certain others are very good too), it can help individuals, families, students, churches, cities and entire nations as well as future generations in some very crucial ways!
I hope that you follow these ways to enjoy fresh air the way that God created you to and that you share these ideas with those around you so that all will know that God cares about our modern problems and that there are solutions from creation science and the Bible for the challenges we face, if we will just study carefully and take God’s truths and principles seriously.
