Almost everyone recognizes that there is a lot of division in our society and in politics. Could anything unify us? I believe there are several things. One is that Jesus said truth brings unity. Objective Truth means accurate descriptions of reality according to usage in the Bible and in many cultures. So if we can figure out facts/truth about reality then there will be a lot more unity. Two of the most divisive issues are abortion and racism. But can truth bring us to more unity on even those two? I think so.
Bible principles and research indicate that abortions sky rocket worldwide by between 40-300% and are at the highest levels worldwide when republicans are in power. This is because many of their policies conflict with what God says governments should do. Racism also increases significantly when republicans are in power. The democrat party has serious conflicts with God’s principles, to be sure, and so I am very hesitant to support them. Third parties have pioneered a lot of surprising progress, including the right to vote, the 8 hour work day, paid vacations and more.
But much research also shows that far more important than which party wins and putting a ballot in a box once every 4 years is how well Christian churches/individuals follow Bible economics and justice day to day and week to week.

The Republican party started admirably in opposition to slavery, while the democratic party started admirably advocating democracy and political freedom. But there has been a lot of changes since that time. A) Many republicans (including some friends) are not thrilled with the modern Republican party or Trump, but they view injustices in areas like abortion, Marxism, Darwinism, secularism and issues like that have killed millions yearly. The Christian republicans see that these injustices also cause people to lose their faith in God/eternal life. They can’t think of anything more evil than these abuses/injustices.
Many democrats (including some friends) are not thrilled with Biden, but they see lethal injustice from greed of the elite/corporations and their corruption that destroys freedom and causes harm and death for billions of people, environmental destruction, racism, sexism, some are very opposed to the devastation of war and other issues that kill millions every year. The Christian democrats see that these injustices also cause people to lose their faith in God/eternal life. They can’t think of anything more evil than these abuses/injustices.
Powerful corporations corrupted the Republican party in the early 1900s and from the 1990s, it followed trickle down economics and neo-liberal economics which the Bible strictly forbids in many places, forbidding governments from any kind of favoritism for the wealthy (Leviticus 19:15) and saying that giving to the wealthy causes poverty (Prov. 22:16).
Unfortunately, Republican policies pioneered giving trillions to the wealthy for no work done every year (which is the most destructive form of socialism in world history and is wholly against every principle of government that God gave). This has forced the vast majority of Americans into debt slavery and has influenced the same in many countries around the world. Democrats largely became the party of working families, some poor and minorities…but also became corrupted a significant amount by the super wealthy and corporations since the Clinton in the 1990s.
Science shows that greed and poverty are the primary causes of both abortion and racism, as well as all other evils on earth which confirms God’s claim that greed is the root of all evil (1 Tim. 6:10). So we should be able to bring people to much more unity with these facts.

Rice has another good one here which shows how racist government policies cause vast differences in wealth. It continues today with the Trump tax cuts in 2017 giving white households $2020 in cuts, hispanic households got ~$970 and Black households got ~$840 on average.

ABORTION
Is this also true of abortion? Yes. Bible principles and research show that since republican economic policies are based on greed and giving to the wealthy for no work done, abortions rise by ~40-300% worldwide when their administrations are in power.
Phil Vischer has a brilliant video that shows that republicans have had enough political power to make illegal for 49 of the last 50 years, but did not do so.
Abortions skyrockets under republicans because economists across the board agree that family finances are much better under democrats, while republican economics are great mostly for the super rich. And a woman with stable finances and finances to take care of a new life is far less likely to have an abortion than one in poverty. 75% of abortions are done by women in poverty, confirming the Bible claim that greed is the root of all evil (1 Tim 6:10), which obviously includes abortion and that greed ruins families (Prov. 15:27).
Vischer doesn’t say it, but while some individual republicans may genuinely be against abortion, the republican party can’t be. The republican party only talks about stopping/reducing abortion but never does anything substantial to actually do it and won’t any time soon. Why? They know that if many minorities and poor are born and grow up, they will not be able to win politically because more minorities and poor tend to support democrats (due to republicans following greed which breaks up families, oppressing the poor, supporting racism, incarcerating many people, sending young people off to fight wars for empire, etc.). So stopping abortion would mean the end of their party. So they are involved in a delicate balancing act of claiming to be against abortion before elections and then betraying their supporters since it can’t actually be truly against abortion in its policies (nothing beyond a few superficials).

Vischer and some other conservatives like David French basically show with evidence that
1) Republicans have had majorities on the supreme court for 49 of the last 50 years, sometimes 8 or 9 justices on their side, but still have not overturned Roe v. Wade. Why? The judicial principle of stare decisis means that justices are very unlikely to go against past rulings. So pinning hopes on the supreme court is a fairy tale .
2) Roe didn’t make abortion legal, and overturning Roe wouldn’t make abortion illegal. At best overturning Roe vs. Wade might reduce abortions by ~12%.
3) State laws in Texas reduced abortion by 28% there. Laws improving health care and reducing poverty in democrat Delaware reduced it by 37% there.
4) Abortions have gone down under every president in the last 40 years. Abortion went down most under Obama.
5) What people do day to day to aid women in trouble is more important than who is president or supreme court justices.
Helping at local women’s crisis or abuse centers could reduce abortion far more than national politics. But many pro-life people don’t spend time or money on this even though it is more effective. There are a number of ways that are much more effective at reducing abortion than supporting republicans.

Stanford researchers found that in 26 countries during republican administrations “abortion rates rose among women in countries highly exposed…a rise of approximately 40%.” Dr. Yana Rodgers from Rutgers analyzed abortion rates around the world under republican administrations which slash funding for women’s health care clinics worldwide and her research showed that under Republicans, “Analyzing abortion data from 51 developing countries between 2001 and 2008 — which encompassed the reproductive decisions of about 6.3 million women — I found that women in Latin America were three times more likely to have an abortion” and in Africa it was two times higher.

There is a claim by Vischer above that president don’t affect the rate of abortions. But that is not accurate because their policies do affect whether people have stable finances or debt. Economists across the board agree that individual/family finances do better under democrats. So women will have fewer crises and less need for abortions. Research confirms this.
Their policies are based on greed which God said is the root of all evil (1 Tim. 6:10), starting many wars for greed, giving trillions to the wealthy which is the most destructive kind of socialist welfare (the Bible repeatedly condemns governments using double standards for the rich and poor and says giving to the rich causes poverty in Prov. 22:16) and because they slash funding for women’s health clinics, which causes many more unplanned pregnancies.
The combination of poverty which is the top reason for up to 75% of abortions, women being desperate and unable to pay to support another life, and unplanned pregnancies due to women being unable to access health care clinics combines to consistently cause the highest rates of abortion under republicans. And Trump’s administration has set records for the highest levels of abortion ever seen, precisely because his policies have been more based on greed than any before him.
UNDER REPUBLICANS RECENTLY
The conservative organization “The Heritage Center” acknowledges that the highest number of abortions ever reported in US history happened in 2017-18, which is of course when Trump was president while the CDC and Focus on the Family have shown that the lowest rates of abortion happened under Obama. By 2015, that number dropped to 638,169, according to the CDC. If you are against abortion, you have to be against republicans because by Bible principles and research their policies are the top #1 cause of abortion worldwide and in America as well as every other major evil on this earth (due to America having more power and influence than any other nation) including the destruction of families, destruction of the environment, increased bombings by the military, increased poverty, putting many Catholics in power in the Supreme court and judiciary and powerful positions in government, etc. Democrats have several serious areas where they are in opposition to God’s principles as well, and are complicit in many of the same harmful policies to a lesser degree. But the republican policies are according to the Bible and science significantly more devastating and lethal.
